For the 58th Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan, at Rho Fiera, Visionnaire returns to Pavilion
5 with a space of 820 square meters designed by Alessandro La Spada in collaboration with the creative
director Eleonore Cavalli. Organized in 15 settings, the overall stand takes its cue from reflections on the
environment, seen as the result of an intense dialogue between nature and artifice. In the architectural
design, this orientation influences the form of the diagonal wings that outline the visit itinerary, around
the central lounge area that takes on the function of a theatrical “transparent lung.”
At Pavilion 3 (Stand F35), on the other hand, Antolini will celebrate the astonishing beauty of stone and the company’s dedication to creating extraordinary new materials, sometimes making them even more unique thanks to special production processes or exclusive partnerships. In this extraordinary setting, conceived by designer Alessandro La Spada, the company will present six striking versions of the STRATOSPHERICA Collection, created as a result of the partnership with Mutaforma. This Milan company works with augmented materials whose optical and chromatic features change thanks to the use of technological nanoparticles mixed with the glass. Notable for inlays and multi-material combinations, STRATOSPHERICA offers a powerful and striking communicative expressiveness which springs from the deep and ambitious bond between the splendour of Antolini’s natural stone and Mutaforma’s glass.
In the heart of this exhibition display, almost as if it were the centre of an enigmatic labyrinth, it will be possible to enter an astonishingly elegant and sophisticated area where Antolini will present a number of new materials from its Exclusive Collection, including Dover White, Patagonia, Black Ice and Calacatta Brasil
BEYOND COLLECTION _Investigating the boundaries of what is known and discovering the Unknown beyond the veil is part of the path suggestedby Alessandro La Spada in a visual translation of the quote by H.D. Thoreau: “The question is not what you look at, but what you see”.
Different layers overlap with each other in optical and organic textures, thus creating three-dimensional patterns, while fluid graphic fibers flow on vegetal shapes and overlay on wide crystal surfaces with 70s textures revealing a variety of interpretations. A glance to discover what is beyond visual perception and appearance …
From 9 to 14 April 2019, in the cosmopolitan context of the fair, an eclectic ensemble takes the stage, full of sophisticated stylistic references and irreverent graphic effects. The focus is no longer on a single product or collection, but on an exclusive project that embodies the brand’s sartorial prowess, capable of creating splendid “apparel” to measure for residential settings.
The brand’s original stylistic approach has generated INTERNO C, an unprecedented catalogue based on the creative flair of Alessandro La Spada. The fascinating theatrical poise of Milanese interiors, the fulcrum of the striking collection, takes on continuity in the exhibition space. Four evocative settings intertwine in a captivating story that narrates the uniqueness and bespoke ability of Clan Milano, interpreted in a sophisticated selection of furnishings with a contemporary spirit.

Clan Milano pays tribute to the world of unique vehicles and automotive design of the 70's in the new Officina collection.
On the occasion of Milan Design Week 2018, the space in Via Sottocorno will become the ideal location to discover the new Officina collection of storage furnishings, a capsule collection designed by Alessandro La Spada for Clan Milano made up of iconic pieces that combine the excellence of woodworking with the originality of a contemporary artwork with a slightly naïf pop taste.
The new collections by Clan Milano make its debut on the occasion of the Salone del Mobile.Milano 2018. The brand’s new proposal tell a story made of stylistic eclecticism and irreverent inspirations made possible by a superb craftsmanship with very ancient roots and an unrivalled experience in woodworking that takes on contemporary forms.
This year the scenography of the exhibiting space pays homage to the roots of the brand, recalling the elegant atmospheres of the fascinating Brianza palaces - typical of the '50s and '60s - dedicated to furniture display.
Antolini presents its new stand designed by Alessandro La Spada for the Salone del Mobile, showcasing Patagonia, Calacatta Brasil and Retrò Black Petrified Wood natural stones.
Synonymous with renewal and transformation, “Breath” is the direction that strongly characterises the new Visionnaire style for 2018.
The careful search for balance between material and shape, between past and contemporaneity, leads immediately to symbolic and meditative places. Full then empty like diaphragms that oxygenate the surrounding space and that find their expression and preciousness in metal, wooden material and marble, as in stone, leather, wool and raffia, and bring a sensation of nature in harmonious arrangement, devoid of redundancy
The audacious and eclectic signature of Alessandro La Spada will be making its mark on the Salone del Mobile.Milano with two new pieces designed for Longhi.
It is for this historic company, constantly aware of the evolutions of taste and contemporary living, that the designer - known for his dreamlike suggestions, attention to detail and experimental functionality - proposes Tiles, the coffee table and Fold, the couch.
Fold’s real novelty is a detail, precious and unexpected, that sends us back to the sixties but at the same time is perfectly balanced with modern luxury: transversal cuts along the external upholstery that reveal shiny metal sections.
On display in the famous Harrods windows till May 10, 2017 Sandrino the Butcher is the first Art-Design project by Visionnaire, conceived by the designer Alessandro La Spada.
The installation, exhibited in preview at the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) on March 30, is involved in the Art Partners initiative by Harrods, aimed at celebrating the excellence of contemporary design, by fostering the cooperation between luxury brands and renowned creatives.
Sandrino the Butcher results from the lively imagination of Alessandro La Spada and underlies a tribute to the work of his grandfather, a butcher and restaurant owner whose daily gestures have been transposed into a series of Art-Design pieces: the kitchen tools - cleavers, knives and hooks for hanging meat - have been released from their original functionality to become eclectic creations of pure aesthetic beauty.
The Steak stool features an original seat in red lacquered steel, anchored to a slaughter hook made in cast brass with galvanic golden finish. Three knives in different shapes support the seat.
The top of Never on Sunday console is made of red jasper with natural veins. A series of decorations and irregular chains in cast brass with golden finishes end with hooks, hatchets and knives. The feet of the console recall the ancient meat tenderizers.
An elegant lamp with red lampshade is hanged on the mirror, broken by a golden cleaver which has been stuck exactly to its middle - hence the name Cleaver Mirror. The symbolic launch of the kitchen tool generates tens of cracks, gently backlit with LED for a more scenic effect.
Sandrino the Butcher represents a consideration on the existence through the “Doppelgänger”, a sort of twin that belongs to every human being and with whom anyone can alternate unconsciously. The manufactures are the liberating motion of this reflection, which investigates on the appeal of shape as mere visual art, free from the functional pragmatism of the object. The limited edition includes fifty stools, eight consoles and mirrors.
Since 2005 Visionnaire and the designer Alessandro La Spada have been working together to create a contemporary and unconventional range of furniture and home accessories, sharing a common concept of luxury interiors oriented to fashion and lifestyle, all Made in Italy.
On the occasion of the upcoming Milan Design Week, Antolini presents a sophisticated atmosphere, which embraces the visitor within an immersive installation designed by Alessandro La Spada.
Interplay of layers creates mysterious effects adding a different depth to the space, by allowing the natural stone to stand up framing each object with a glamorous touch.
Contrast, designed by Alessandro La Spada, is a collection which breaks old patterns, whose fil rouge is the contamination of styles creating an original interpretation of the luxury lifestyle in the
living area and in the office.
After its debut at Salone del Mobile in 2015, Clan Milano returns to the world’s most famous interior event for the third year. The brand has been working on many new developments, including a captivating collection by Alessandro La Spada, the new IMMOBILE catalog and the opening of its first showroom in the heart of Milan
An important reward for Visionnaire, which receives its first Design Award on October 15th 2014, after the nomination as “Best Wall Covering of 2014” from Elle Decoration Russia. The protagonist is “Adventure in the Sea”, the brand new wall covering in shiny satin, printed with graphic on Visionnaire original drawing by Alessandro La Spada and available in two colour tones (warm or cold).
Luxury, style and quality: these are the fundamental values of Visionnaire, brand which, today more than ever, goes beyond a simple furniture proposal. Tailor-made projects, customized on the specific customers’ needs, make Visionnaire the ideal partner both in the making of private living projects and in luxury contract proposals. Thanks to this approach, Visionnaire has got the possibility of expanding worldwide in the name of a new way of “making furniture”, not necessarily linked to the product, but to a life philosophy, in one word “lifestyle”.
A retro atmosphere for a sophisticated living room with shades of greys, blues, dark blue-green and brass. The setting conceived by Alessandro La Spada for Antolini at the Salone del Mobile 2016 is inspired by an urban taste with vintage touches, displaying the much sought-after expressivity of natural stone to create surprising scenic backdrops from which unique pieces with unmistakable personality emerge. The power of “Sequoia Brown”, the tectonic value of which creates a strong contrast with the organic design of the furnishings, is expressed through its veining and the finishes that arise from the emphasis of the natural surfaces by the light.
Within this setting, tables, desks and dressing tables (“Molecole” model – designed and produced for Clan) rise up like islands of material with tops in Irish Green, Fusion Wow Original Dark lether finish and Quartzite Michelangelo; capable of enriching the overall setting, they enhance the natural surfaces with flashes of strong character.
Other components of the seductive charm are the objects designed by Clan, such as the 6 and 12 bulb Luz chandeliers in satin-finished bronze-lacquered brass, the Armchair, the Maya pouf, covered in decorated velvet, the Rodrigo floor lamp and the Snake sofa in Elitis LB 69147 velvet.
A unique, made-to-measure piece, the motorbike provided by South Garage together with two vivid helmets, helps to give a touch of urban glamour to this eclectic and contemporary space, displaying, by contrast, the natural beauty of the stone.
The “Land System” was inspired by the transformation of aerial photographs of the earth – visions
from a different perspective that portray the cultivated fields and preveal fascinating colour combinations
and spontaneous geometric compositions that cannot be seen from another vantage point.
This gives us an new idea for interpreting vertical surfaces, panelling lined with metal profiles and
different materials that alternate to define spaces: functions with continuity. ” - Alessandro La Spada.
Visionnaire comes to Harrods with a clear set of core values: luxury, style, and quality. Its tailor-made projects are hand-stitched to meet the needs of each individual customer, making the brand an ideal partner in both private and commercial luxury projects. Its newest setting evokes that larger brand identity, and brings a sense of luxury and exclusivity to the domestic realm.
The new showroom will feature pieces that work throughout the home, and demonstrates just how Visionnaire’s exquisite details elevate every design: the handmade Chatam Dining Table, for example, designed by Alessandro La Spada, features a gorgeous marble top and metal legs inspired by a snake’s scales. Meanwhile, the Versailles Desk (also by La Spada) sits atop dramatically pointed legs of blown and cut crystal.
Finally, Visionnaire presents timeless elegance for the bedroom: Alice, one of the Italian brand’s bestsellers, is upholstered in Nubuk leather, and creates a sense of total femininity when combined with the Grimilde vanity unit and ottoman.
"Dark, italian 100%
The goods are full of history, passion and love
Amazing collection, Amazing person."
Sara Frigerio
One of the most eclectic and creative signatures of contemporary luxury and interior design panorama, Alessandro La Spada has always been fascinated by the reciprocal exchange of influences between art, design and crafts. Through a unique and often irreverent style, his work as art designer reveals a multicultural and innovative approach that shapes different creative worlds and suggestions.
His love for manual skills is conveyed through an innate curiosity about materials, his most outstanding source of inspiration: metal, wood, glass, marble or leather.
The leather inspires "Handcraft Story", its first Capsule collection, featuring a dark soul that consists of 13 items including bags and clutches, belts, key rings, briefcases and bracelets.
An extremely clean style enhances Italian passion for detail and craftsmanship, two elements that triumph in this line.
In the production of this collection, after being softened with warm water, the leather was hand hammered to create a minimalist design, an almost flowing print that emphasizes and enhances the material. Few essential steel and bronze elements adorn the main element.
"I designed this capsule after meeting an incredible craftsman, specialized in the production of cases for bows and high-quality knives - says Alessandro - I was really fascinated by his smooth and wise approach to the material. With this collection I wanted to honor his work, embracing the craft techniques that he imparted to me and recalling the shapes that distinguish its production. In fact the curved cut that characterizes the entire line evokes the sinuous shape of the cases for bows and knives ".
DIVA brings to mind what the collective imagery considers a classic chandelier with details highlighting contemporary elements. It is a precious tribute to the sophisticated female beauty of the movie icons of the sixties. Stylised geometric elements evoke the fascination of the smooth stones from the jewellery art which in those years characterised the triumph of the cinema icons and this is the reason behind its name: “Diva”. Refined details emphasized by “white and gold” celebrate the 50th anniversary of the MM Maison.
Inside the company booth, Oro collection grows richer of new products and new spaces, marked by precious materials, woods, lacquers, mother-of-pearls, brasses, with a strong metropolitan bourgeois mood. From the vestiaire – the entrance to the dedicated area – to the proposals for the living room, the dining room and the two bedrooms.
In the most prestigious street in Milan, the presentation of the new products of the Jardin de Verre collection gives Alessandro La Spada the cue for creating an imaginative installation. Dream and reality mix up to give life to weird atmospheres, inhabited by people from bygone days and exotic animals, that the master Murano glassmakers handcraft in glass.
An important marriage between La Murrina and the 5 Star Boscolo Hotel - located right in the pulsing heart of Milan - officiated by the creativity of Alessandro la Spada who dresses the windows on either side of the impressive total red entrance to the hotel using symbols and shapes from the Venetian tradition including outlines of
mullionedwindows and dalbens used as pedestals. A tribute to Murano Glass and the skill of the Master glassblowers who have been creating timeless pieces for centuries.

A meeting between design and food, Alessandro La Spada meets Filippo La Mantia. Theater event Visionnaire, the year in which the brand is celebrating its 10th anniversary is going to show his best showcase at the Expo Milano 2015.
A project able to tell its own story, designed by an eccentric and eclectic Alessandro la Spada. A furniture system that marks an evolution in Milldue’s philosophy. It takes shape from the need to develop a project with an international flavor and it is haracterized by a luxury that is not too extravagant, but still very recognizable thanks to the constant attention to details and use of exclusive materials and finishes as gold satin, rose gold satin and black chrome. A highly evolved furnishing concept focused on offering coordinated solutions, thanks to the presence of an unique architectural style and original geometries, recognizable in a bathroom décor that includes vanity units, washbasins, bathtubs, mirrors and handles. A modular system designed to furnish and give shape to small spaces, where the washbasin stands out in the bathroom
Greenery is the word that Visionnaire chose to tell the re-evolution of its new collection, which will be presented in April as a world premiere during the Salone del Mobile 2017.

A precious collection which is renewed and extended from one year to another. ORO ('gold'): the theme of a dedicated area within the company stand. A true bourgeois metropolitan suite especially designed by La Spada for the collection The area showcases new upholstery and new products; pride of place is given to EUR, a sofa which highlights the contrast between the hardness of brass and the softness of leather. The contrast is underlined in the front corner of the sitting area where the arch shaped metal frame meets and encloses the upholstery.
A luxurious, lush Garden of Eden has been the theme of Alessandro La Spada's work with La Murrina for some years now. The project started off with the collection in progress Jardin de Verre, moved on to last year's magnificent installation Le crocodile en verre de Venise and leads us to this year's creations: Python: an extraordinary chandelier formed by modules inspired by the most dangerous snake in the world caught in the act of swallowing its prey. Colibrì: the latest in the Jardin de Verre series features the tiny birds which are famous for their acrobatics hovering in mid-air. The main theme of the stand setting is a tribute to the shapes and outlines of the Venetian skyline with particular focus on windows and dalbens. The glass flooring endlessly reflects the shine and sparkle of the new creations in Murano glass.
Endless is the name of the panelling; endless are the ways it embellishes ambients; endless is the meticulous and painstaking research La Spada instills in the design of this unique domestic architecture: 10 meters enhanced with new accessories and lighting will be on show this year while the star innovation is a state-of-the-art dark brown cork paper wall covering enriched with tiny gold fragments.
An installation to celebrate the anniversary of the magazine, A decade of evolution in design. The showcases of Milan’s Boscolo Hotel become a gateway to the evolutionary and conceptual world of IFDM
The installation that IFDM is presenting at Milan Design Week opens up boundless perspectives. An exhibition concept celebrating ten years of the magazine, giving both an explanation of its mission and a guide to its future as a Global Design Carrier.
The showcases of the prestigious Boscolo Hotel, which faces onto the very central Corso Matteotti, host this tale in pictures, renewing a partnership begun last year when, in April, IFDM presented its latest, exclusive editorial product, the Contract & Hospitality Book dedicated to major international hospitality projects - and more besides - at the same location.
The two exhibition settings at the Milan luxury hotel have now become an open window on the history of IFDM, from its beginnings to the present day, marked by ten covers that - year after year - celebrate the important anniversary.
The visionary interpretation by the designer Alessandro La Spada, who designed the installation, plays on transparency, the concept of dynamism and perspective: seemingly elegant panelling, evoking the inside of an aeroplane in which ten portholes refer, metaphorically, to the boundless skies crossed by IFDM with its seven annual editions and 35 events in which it acts as media partner.
“A decade of evolution in design” - the title of the installation – is not therefore a point of arrival but rather the beginning of a new 'evolutionary' stage that heralds a dreamlike voyage to unexplored destinations, be they geographical, creative or editorial.
The concept has a twin interpretation in IFDM’s exhibition space at the Salone del Mobile.Milano, where the bond is emphasised between the magazine and the world of design, through the design of a lounge in which to welcome the friends and visitors who have loyally followed and shared in the magazine’s growth over these ten years.
